Biography
Teaches Piano Tuning and Restoration at Newark College since 2004.
Vic was educated at the London Nautical School with ambitions of joining the Navy. Due to events within his family, he left school early and was encouraged, by his Mother, to apply for a job close by where he saw a post advertised as ‘Strong boy wanted to learn piano trade’.
Starting at 16 at the bottom of the trade, Vic learned on the job how to renovate and repair all types of pianos, and in his 20’s progressed to a management role.
After some years with his own business and two restoration shops on the South Coast, Vic moved up to Lincolnshire.
Through his friendship with John Lord he became aware of a vacancy at the College for a teacher in Piano Tuning and Repair, a position he has now held for over 17 years.
